Thursday November 5th  2008 “The River Trent” with Richard Stone.
Saturday December 6th 2008

Coffee Morning. 10a.m –12.30p.m. Free entry. More details  later.

   
Thursday January 8th  “ The 1896 Alaskan Gold Rush” with Colin Bagshaw.
Thursday February 5th  Three Dimensional Chess played at High Speed” with Pete Garrard- East Midlands Airport Air  Traffic Control.
SATURDAY  February 7th    Another Jazz Concert with Bill Smith and Gypsy Jazz. Bring your own food and drink. Proceeds to Repton Church Heritage Appeal.
Thursday March 5th

From Back Garden to Bandavgrargh.” A year in the life of award winning wild life photographer Danny Green.   Followed by the Annual General Meeting.

Thursday April 2nd “Charles Darwin - his origins, family background and formative years in Shrewsbury, the town of his birth (200 years ago this year) ” with Pam Powis.
SATURDAY April 4th Themed coach and walking tour around Shrewsbury with Pam.
Thursday May 14th   

Wine tasting - “Everyday Bordeaux Wines” with Keith Grainger.

SUNDAY May 24th Private evening visit to Claymills Pumping Station during a steaming weekend Members only.
Thursday June 4th “ The History of Marks and Spencer” with Christopher Bailey.
Thursday July 2nd  “Saltaire -  a model Yorkshire mill town built by Titus Salt between 1850 and 1870 ” with Rod Pearson.
SATURDAY July 4th Coach trip via Halifax and Bradford to Saltaire with Rod plus fish and chip supper at Harry Ramsden’s.

Thursday September 3rd “Gothic Revival Architecture - Past and Present” with Prof. Janet Spencer.
SATURDAY September 19th Coach trip to York with optional visit to Yorkshire Air Museum.

Thursday November 5th  “Tower Clocks through the Ages” with Nicholas Smith (ex MD of John Smith Clocks Ltd).

Unless otherwise stated all talks/events are held in the Village Hall, Askew Grove and start at 7.30p.m. Charges: Members £2, Visitors, who are always welcome, £3.
