2009 - 2010 MEETING PROGRAMME

TUESDAY 17th November 2009  ‘THE GARDENS AT CALKE ABBEY’ An illustrated talk by Steve Biggins, Head Gardener 
FRIDAY 4th DECEMBER TO MONDAY 7th DECEMBER 2009  Glenys and her helpers will be decorating a tree for display at the Christmas Tree Festival to be held between these dates. This is an excellent event staged in St Wystan’s Church which will be full of trees by various organizations in the village. Please come along and support the event – it is very worthwhile.

‘A CHRISTMAS SOCIAL’ is planned in Repton Village Hall starting at 7.30pm. It will follow the pattern of last year’s event, with refreshments, a raffle, a game or two and maybe one or two items from willing volunteers. This event is open to members and friends and gives a good opportunity for getting to know one another in a more informal way than is possible at the monthly meetings. Please put your name on the list or let a member of the committee know if you would like to come.

TUESDAY 16th February 2010 ‘THE CONTENTS OF GRANDFATHER’S TOOL CHEST’ a talk by Brian Read with appropriate tools on display.

‘MADE IN DERBYSHIRE’ an illustrated talk by Shirley Horton

TUESDAY 20th April 2010 ‘THE GIRLS OF THE BIG HOUSE’ A talk by Ian Hingley
TUESDAY 18th May 2010 ‘VICTORIAN GHOST STORIES’ a talk by Gareth King plus A.G.M.
WEDNESDAY 9th June 2010  ASSEMBLE 2PM

TUESDAY 16th November 2010 ‘WORLD WAR TWO EVACUEES’. A talk by James Roffey, CEO of the Evacuees Re-union Association. This will include audio recordings from evacuees.
